ARMAGH 1-11 DONEGAL 1-12

Armagh pushed Ulster champions Donegal all the way in the All Ireland Senior Football Championship quarter-final on Saturday, but were edged out by a point.

The Orchard County side were ahead going into the final five minutes after a Stefan Campbell goal but Donegal hit back and Paddy McBrearty kicked over a late winner.

Earlier Odhran MacNiallais netted for Donegal , bidding for a third Sam Maguire success, to a 0-6 to 1-5 lead at the break.

Scuffles broke out during what was a tense opening 15 minutes, but after order was restored, Donegal began to play a more direct game.

MONAGHAN 0-11 DUBLIN 2-22

All-Ireland champions Dublin crushed Monaghan in a quarter-final win at Croke Park.

Dublin stepped on the gas in the last 10 minutes of the first half, hitting 2-5 and conceding just two points to take a firm grip on the tie.

Diarmuid Connolly and Bernard Brogan netted for the Dubs, who led 2-8 to 0-5 at the break.

Dublin surged clear in the second half against a tiring Monaghan side to set up a semi-final against Donegal.
