The Rural Development Programme (RDP) has been instrumental in providing the local Community Association in Loughmacrory with the opportunity to extensively develop community and recreational facilities at the Loughview Centre.

That was the message from Rural Development Minister Michelle O’Neill as she officially opened the new facilities in Loughmacrory, which were developed in partnership with Loughmacrory GAA and Handball Clubs, and supported with £824,491 capital investment from Assisting Rural Communities North-West (ARC NW) under Axis 3 of the NI Rural Development Programme (RDP).

Minister O’Neill said: “The Partnership approach, with so many interested local organisations and users involved in the process, has led to the development of top class facilities which I have no doubt will lead to events of local and national significance being held at Loughmacrory in the years to come.

“This in turn will provide increased tourism.”
