The GAA plans to holds talks on how to tackle racism during the organisation’s annual congress next March.
The decision comes after Crossmaglen player Aaron Cunningham claimed he was racially abused by two members of the Kilcoo panel and members of the crowd during the Ulster Club football final.
Mr Cunningham’s father is black.
The motion - which asks the GAA to ‘state and rule a specific punishment’ - has been brought by the Sarsfield club in Wexford, however it is understood a similar step may be taken by the GAA’s central inclusion and integration committee.
Ulster GAA president, Aogán O Fearghail, has warned that anyone found guilty of racism would be dealt with “as severely” as possible.
