The final round of the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship takes place this weekend and Fermanagh’s Garry Jennings is poised to take the title.
However Jennings must be careful to finish as the Cork 20 is the only round in the series to offer bonus points and a poor showing could see the title slip away.
Seeded at number one is last year’s winner Daragh O’Riordan and he will be driving a Ford Fiesta WRC, he will be followed by Jennings in his Subaru WRC while Donagh Kelly starts at number four in a Ford Focus WRC and is Jenning’s main rival.
“I would be keen to push flat out, but I am all too aware that I must finish and I am quite sure that Rory Kennedy, my co-driver will keep a close eye on me,” said Jennings.
Stephen Wright tops the points table for the Group N Championship.
The format of the rally will take place over two days with a newly revised compact route layout.
