Warrenpoint's Colm Campbell embraces Irish Open chance
“It was different to a normal event. I was okay, surprisingly,” said the recently crowned Irish Amateur Open champion.

The 28-year-old grabbed three birdies in total, mixed in with two double-bogeys and a bogey to finish the day in a share of 93rd position.
He added: “Overall, I’m happy with how I played bar two swings. For my first Irish Open, I’m happy with how I handled the situation. Driving the ball is key. Ireland's two other amateur competitors in the field, Jack Hume (+5) and John-Ross Galbraith (+6) face uphill tasks to make the cut today.
