Michael Hoey ended in a tie for second place at the Tshwane Open in South Africa after posting a final round of four-under-par 68 to lie 17 under on Sunday.

Hoey carded an eagle, four birdies and a double bogey in his closing 18 holes to tie with Danie van Tonder.

The Shandon Park player had started the day five shots behind England’s Ross Fisher and the former Ryder Cup player went on to win the tournament by four shots.
