Richard Nummey blasted home four goals as Newry crushed bottom of the table Cliftonville 8-0.

Two from Keith McWilliams and one each from Robert Irwin and David England must make Newry red-hot favourites for the title.

But North Down are not just giving up yet on the Senior One title, as they notched a 6-3 win over PSNI, with Andy Forrest grabbing two, Simon Watt and Stevie scoring one each and two own goals. Chris Barnes netted a hat-trick for the visitors.

Portadown are also in the mix for the promotions play-offs, as they defeated Campbellians 5-2.

Thanks to two goals from Ryan Bennet, and one-a-piece from Stevie Johnston, Gregory Croft and Neil Gilmore, with Joel Easlea and Andy Burnside scoring for Campbellians.

A Paul Maguire hat-trick secured three points in South Antrim’s 3-2 win over Antrim, with Stuart McIlroy and David Mailey on target for Antrim.

Banbridge, Cookstown, Lisnagarvey, and Instonians will all be waiting to see who they will play in the quarterfinals of the Irish Junior Cup as the draw is being made in Dublin today.

Ballynahinch are only three points behind Senior Two leaders, Portrush, after ‘Hinch defeated Armagh 3-2, thanks to goals from Leslie Harrison, Ashley Brown and Stuart Hunter.
