Pegasus coach Michelle Rainey is leaving no stone unturned ahead of Saturday’s Irish Senior Cup test

PREP WORK: Michelle Rainey

PEGASUS coach Michelle Rainey has been doing her homework ahead of Saturday’s Irish Senior Cup second round clash with Cathloic Institute in Limerick.

Arlene Boyles, who recently handed over the captain’s armband to Kate McConnell, was involved with the Ireland set up in a coaching capacity until September.

And she has been passing on a few tips to her coach in the interim after the Cup draw was made although Institute are no strangers to Pegasus.

They have been regular adversaries in the Irish Hocky League and played each other on two occasions last season.

“They have always been tough matches against Institute and the fact the game is in Limerick makes it even more so.” said Rainey.

“Munster teams always give you a real battle and put it this way - I am not going there with the mindset that a win is guaranteed.

“I have been using my contacts to find out how they have been playing this season and Arlene has been useful in that respect.”
