Queen’s II maintained their excellent start to Junior One with an impressive 3-0 win over Victorians II on the sand-based pitch at Upper Malone.
Stephanie McBride, Sophie Pollock and Tamsin Sturgeon got the goals for the students while their third and fourth teams did even better.
Shannen Smyth hit a hat trick for the thirds in their 10-0 win over Dromore while Joanna Singleton claimed four goals in the fourths’ 9-0 victory over Coleraine.
Also in the top junior league Randalstown II kept up their impressive form with a 3-1 win over Harlequins II Jayne McGrillen, Grace Louise Palmer and Rebecca Quinn the players on target.
‘Town’s third eleven failed to score but came away with a point from a 0-0 draw with Lurgan III.
While Portadown’s first won at the weekend their seconds didn’t fare so well going down 2-1 to neighbours Banbridge, Ali Reid’s goal proving to be only of consolation value.
But Ports coach Jane McKimm was much happier with a 1-1 draw for her club’s third eleven against Ards V.
Andrea Herron got the goal which saw the Ports youngsters maintain their unbeaten start to their Junior Eight campaign.
“It’s a very young team with several 15 and 16 year olds so it is very pleasing to see the start they have made to the season,” said McKimm.
