The Show at the Odyssey in Belfast on February 9 is just getting better and better with the news that Jamie Conlan will now fight for an Inter-Continental title on the bill.

The talented former St John Bosco fighter will trade leather for the Super flyweight belt with Mike Robinson.

Conlan was supposed to fight Yaqub Kareem for the Commonwealth strap, but the Nigerian elected to put his title on the line against British Champion Paul Butler in Liverpool in March.

Conlan’s title fight adds extra spice to the night as Carl Frampton faces Kiko Martinez for the Spaniard’s European title and Martin Lindsay will try and wrestle the British title off Lee Selby.

The show is heading towards a packed house and Conlan cannot wait to get started.

“I was glad they sorted out a title fight for me after the Commonwealth fight fell through. That was a huge disappointment.

“And Robinson’s record is deceiving as he was robbed in the two fights he had against Ashley Sexton.

“It should be a good clash as he comes to fight and he always comes forward.

“But no-one will have hit him as hard as I will and I am looking forward to the challenge. The two of us have not fought in a year and I am just looking forward to getting back in the ring.

“I have been sparring with my brother Michael and Marc McCullough and they have put me through my paces. Tickets for the show are flying out and if you don’t want to fight in front of a big crowd at the Odyssey, you shouldn’t be in boxing,” he added.

Also on the bill Martin Rogan boxes in a bout ahead of his appearance in the Prizefighter International Heavyweights III on February 23 at the York Hall.

And Andy Lee faces Anthony Fitzgerald and Eamonn O’Kane will also feature. There are also outings for Grzegorz Proksa, Callum Smith against Belfast’s Tommy Tolan, Daniel ‘Insane’ McShane, Tony Nellins and Marc McCullough.

Tickets for can be purchased from fighters on the bill and at www.odysseyarena.com
