The Donaghadee man roared to a 21-8 victory over Pickie’s Peter Campbell in the final.
Campbell was duly named player of the tournament due to the fact that he also forged his way into the final of the pairs and triples.
However, he was forced to endure another dallop of disappointment in the latter. Joined by Robin Beattie and Paul Canning, they lost out (20-6) to Alan Stewart, Jackie Nelson and Gary Scott.
But Campbell at last got an opporrtunity to pop the bubbly in the pairs. He teamed up with Dean Mills to recored a nerve-tingling 15-14 win over Bangor’s Mark Bailie and Graham McKee.
“The tournament was another great success with even bigger numbers than last year,” said organiser Matt Stevenson. “We had players from all over the country involved.”
