TOP COACH: Northern Ireland legend and current Irish FA Disability Football Development Officer, Mal Donaghy with coach, Steven Murray and some of the players

NORTHERN Ireland legend and current Irish FA Disability Football Development Officer, Mal Donaghy was at Dungannon Leisure Centre recently to launch an exciting new Disability Football Club in County Tyrone.

The club meets on Wednesday’s on a weekly basis in the indoor hall at the leisure centre from 8.15pm–9.15pm.

Participants are male and female with a learning and/or physical disability and ages ranging from 11–18 years.

The club is run in partnership with Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council and the Irish FA.

Mal was full of praise for the players and coaches on the opening night.

“It’s great to get this club up and running.

“We hope that it can create a structured interest for those with a disability in the surrounding areas.

“And the evidence of tonight shows that it is a great opportunity to get fit.

“They can also meet new friends and have a lot of fun playing football under the guidance of some good coaches.

“They will enjoy themselves and pick-up skills,” added Donaghy.

If you would like to register for the club, please contact Alan Crooks at the Irish FA: 07894 614324 or acrooks@irishfa.com
