Belfast’s Marc McCullough will fight Andrei Isaeu for the vacant WBO featherweight title at the Odyssey on April 4.
John Breen-trained McCullough stopped Willie Casey in an Irish title fight in his last outing at the Belfast venue and he is looking forward to facing Isaeu.
“Yes, I am delighted the fight has been made. If I win this fight it will mean that I have won a title in all of my last three bouts.
“This is a good test for me and it means I can move up the rankings and keep pushing forward.
“I don’t know much about my opponent but I will be ready for whatever he has to offer on the night,” added McCullough.
It was also confirmed that Stephen Ormond will now defend his WBO European title against Karim El Ouazghan on the bill.
The headliner on the Odyssey bill on April 4 is Carl Frampton who takes on Hugo Cazares in a Final Eliminator for the WBC World title.
Conrad Cummings, Jamie Conlan and Ryan Burnett will also feature on the show.
It was also announced on Thursday that highly talented light middleweight Dee Walsh has signed a deal with promoter and manager Mark Dunlop.
Walsh had five fights and five victories before he took time away from boxing at the end of 2012.
But he will now return to action at the Devenish Complex on May 10.
And Walsh admtis he can’t wait to get back into action.
“I am looking forward to it and I missed being in the limelight. I took time out to be a dad to my son and now I am ready to return.
“I have signed with Mark Dunlop because he keeps his boxers busy and I will be fighting in Belfast on May 10 and June 28. The aim is to stay active and then go for the Irish title,” he added.
And Dunlop says he is delighted with the signing.
“He is a talented boy and he will go far. I have also signed a promotional deal with Martin Rogan and there will be big news about Rogan very soon.”
