Alastair Fisher and Gordon Noble in a Ford Fiesta R5 have moved into the lead of the Clonakilty Blackpudding Irish Tarmac Championship with one round to go.

The pair finished second behind winner Elfyn Evans in the John Mulholland Motors Ulster Rally over the course of the weekend.

That was enough to move them into the Irish Tarmac Championship lead with just the AceSigns Cork 20 International Rally remaining in the series.

Keith Cronin and Mikie Galvin had to settle for fifth overall after a late gearbox problem cost them road penalties but they still move into second in the championship – which now appears to be a straight shootout between Cronin and Fisher.

Seventh place was enough to see Josh Moffett and John Rowan move into third overall in the championship as the Monaghan driver keeps his series hopes alive.
