Portadown have the chance of grabbing a slot in the semi finals of the NIBA Senior Cup when they entertain Curran tomorrow night.

The Ports wrote themselves into the record books back in 2012 when they paraded the coveted piece of silverware for the first time in the club's history.

In fact, they reached their first ever final three years prior to that but were beaten in the final by Lisnagarvey.

It's no strange coincidence that both clubs are now back in the last eight in the current campaign.

However, lurking menacingly among the quarter finalists are serial cup winners Bangor and Whitehead, who are the current holders of the trophy.

And, there is every possibility that the 'big two' will meet in the showcase decider on Thursday, July 7.

The Seasiders will be favourites to progress to the semi finals -- scheduled for June 28 -- when they host Balmoral tomorrow night, while the holders will lost little sleep with a trip to Sydenham pending.

And, Portadown certainly have a big incentive against Division Two side Curran, but Lisnagarvey face a mighty task as they travel to Banbridge.

Meanwhile, Portadown's Richard McMullan will tonight face a testing examination when he puts his NIBA Triples title on the line against Bangor's Robert Hastings in a quarter final tie at Ward Park.

Tonight: NIBA Triples, quarter finals: E Kennedy (Donaghadee) v D Donagly (Balmoral), S Denley (Bangor) v M McHugh (Whitehead), R Hastings (Bangor) v R McMullan (Portadown), M Stevenson (Castle) v P Weir (Whitehead).

Tomorrow night: NIBA Senior Cup, quarter finals: Portadown v Curran, Bangor v Balmoral, Banbridge v Lisnagarvey, Sydenham v Whitehead.

NIBA Junior Cup: Lurgan v Balmoral, Whitehead v Banbridge.
