The Irish FA’s Women’s Referee Development Group is going from strength to strength with a number of members being appointed to high-profile matches this week.
On Monday, Ruth Anne Wright refereed a friendly between Northern Ireland senior women and Estonia and on Wednesday Vikki Finlay will referee the second game between the two countries.
Tracy Orr and Chelsea South complete the all-female team as assistants for this week’s games.
Chelsea has also been confirmed as part of the Championship assistant referee panel with plans afoot in the next month to see all female teams build their experience at NIFL Youth and Reserve league level.
It is a deserved reward for the commitment put into the development programme so far.
Formed in December 2013, the group meets on the last Wednesday of every month at Dungannon Swifts FC.
The Irish FA is looking to recruit new female referees for the start of the 2014/2015 season and anyone interested is asked to email email@example.com.
