Past winners Duncan and Butler to do battle at Dromore

Former champions Stephen Duncan and Julie Butler both from the Omagh Club will start favourites for today’s 6th Dromore Community 10K Race in County Tyrone.

Northern Ireland Masters champion Duncan won the race for four years in a row and is also a former Waterside champion and he should be in a class of his own.

Last year’s winner Paul Barbour was third behind Duncan and Conan McCaughey in 2012 and will feature again along with Jonathan Dempsie and Damien Cox.

Julie Butler showed her well being with victory in the Omagh Sport 10K recently and will go close.

again. Last year’s medallists Angela Speight and Mairaid McCann will be chasing medals again.

Denise Toner the winner two years ago, Pauline McGurran, Helen Stockdale the reigning 5K champion and Angela O’Neill are other names to note.

A big turn out is also expected for the 5K Run and Walk. James Speight has won for the last two years and should complete his hat-trick. Fergus McGirr can be next best.

In the ladies Omagh sisters Sara and Toni Moore can take rostrum places. Sara was second in the 10K in 2012 and the 5K last time with Toni just behind in third.
