Ulster competitors expected to impress at Aviva All Ireland Schools Track and Field Championships

There are high hopes of medals for Ulster competitors in Saturday’s Aviva All Ireland Schools Track and Field Championships at Tullamore.

Aislinn Crossey of Sacred Heart looks good in the Senior 400 and 800 as does record breaker Hannah McAuley of Ballyclare High in the triple jump.

At Intermediate level sprinters Megan Marrs of Stratherne and Roseanna McGuckian of Ballymena Academy along with Clodagh O’Reilly of Loretto Cavan at 1500 and 3000 can score.

In the Senior Boys Andrew Melon of Bangor Grammar in 400, Paddy Robb St Malachy’s, Andrew Wright Grosvenor, Ryan Sharkey Methody at middle distances can take medals along with another record breaker John Kelly Royal and Prior at shot.

In the Intermediates Andrew Barkley from Belfast High can strike discus gold while Oisin O’Callaghan Abbey in 800 and 1500, Ronan O’Fril St Malachy’s at 1500 and 3000 and Christie Conlon Rathmore at 3000 can make the rostrum.
