Zoe Brown defeated a strong field to win the pole vault at the Cardiff International meeting.

The 30 year old set her 5th Northern Ireland record of the season as she soared over 4.45 metres at the second attempt.

Zoe had started at 4.15 and then cleared 4.25 and 4.35 before her successful record which leaves her the second ranked athlete in the Commonwealth.

She also had three good attempts at 4.50 which should be within her reach shortly. On this form she must have a chance of a medal in Glasgow.
