The Adelaide Masters Series resumes this weekend at Mondello Park in Co Kildare, when Cody Nally will be aiming to extend his lead at the top of the championship standings.

Rounds four, five and six of the country’s leading short circuit motorcycle event will be held on Saturday and Sunday on the shorter national track and Athlone man Nally should take all the beating.

Nally won two of the three Superbike races at the opening round of the series in April at Mondello and sits at the championship summit on 70 points, albeit only nine points ahead of Dublin man and reigning Masters champion Derek Sheils.

The CD Racing rider took a win himself in the Superbike class in April on the MSS-prepared Kawasaki ZX-10R and finished on the podium twice to keep the pressure on his fellow Irishman.

Mark Glasgow holds third place in the standings with 39 points after round one, with Manxman Dan Kneen (37 points), Gerard Kinghan (33 points) and David Haire (31 points) completing the top six.

The Supersport races provided some spectacular action last time out, producing three different winners over the opening weekend, and more of the same is on the cards this weekend.

Sheils powered the CD Yamaha to victory in the first race, with Robert English and defending champion Haire also savouring victory.

However, the consistent Carl Phillips left Mondello with the championship lead but only by five points from Alan McLean, with Richad Glasgow third ahead of Haire and English.

Another frenetic weekend’s action is in store and once more Sunday’s races will be broadcast live on www.Mondello.TV.

Each class will have three races over the weekend, with the first races scheduled on Saturday and the main programme on Sunday.

Admission to the Adelaide Masters Series this weekend at Mondello Park is 12.50 euros for adults with under 16′s admitted free of charge.

Admission includes a complimentary event programme. For further information see
