The Quattro Plant Cool Kawasaki rider, who heads the series by 16 points this season after winning two of the three races held so far, hasn’t enjoyed the best of luck at the Kent circuit in the past.

However, the 22-year-old is confident he can set things right this weekend.

“I can honestly say I don’t dislike any of the circuits on the British championship calendar, but Brands Indy hasn’t been that kind to me for one reason or another in the past,” said Reid.

“The nature of the circuit and the short lap means there is always quite a bit of traffic to negotiate in qualifying.

“This year I’m on a new bike with a new team in the Quattro Plant Cool Kawasaki set-up, so I’m going there to rectify that ‘not such a great circuit for Andy Reid’ scenario,” he added.

“Last time out at Oulton we grabbed the feature race win, but seventh place in the Sprint Race – for me personally – wasn’t great.

“It was points in the bag in difficult circumstances, but the goal this weekend is fifty points and that means two wins.”

The Sprint race takes place tomorrow at 3.10pm with the Feature race on Sunday at 3.35pm.

Meanwhile, British Superbike rookie Glenn Irwin is eager to build on his fine seventh place at Oulton Park as he continues to make progress on the Be Wiser Ducati Panigale.

Irwin is currently 12th in the championship table and has scored points in all four races so far.

“I’m looking forward to making further progress at Brands Hatch this weekend,” said the Carrickfergus rider.

“Every time we ride we close the gap to the front and that’s this week’s objective as we proved at the last round, despite the problems we had, the bike and me are now capable of good results.

“I’ve worked hard since Oulton Park and hope we can have a good weekend once we get out on track.”
