TT 2016: Sidecar driver Dwight Beare dies in crash

Australian Sidecar driver Dwight Beare has sadly died following an incident at the Isle of Man TT on Saturday.

The 27-year-old was killed following an accident near Rhencullen during the opening Sidecar race, which was red flagged as a result.

Mr Beare, who lived in Onchan on the Isle of Man, made his TT debut in 2014, achieving a 12th place in his second race on the Isle of Man when he competed with father Noel as his passenger.

The pair returned to the Isle of Man TT last year, achieving a 17th place in the first sidecar race.

His passenger, Benjamin Binns, from the Isle of Man, was airlifted to Nobles Hospital and is described as being stable with a fractured ankle.

ACU Events Ltd passed on their deepest sympathy to Dwight’s family and friends.

The Sidecar race was later restarted over a full four-lap distance.
