Northern Ireland’s Andy Reid is growing in confidence with each lap he completes on the FFX Yamaha R6 he will ride on his debut in the Pirelli National Superstock 600 Championship this season.

The Jordanstown racer quickly settled into the team during pre-season testing in Spain at Cartagena and Alcarras, where Yorkshireman Ian Hutchinson also lapped up the warm-weather track time on the FFX Yamaha R1 as he prepares for a full campaign in the MCE British Superbike series this year.

Reid, who bounced back from a badly broken leg to make a winning return in the Motostar British Championship last year, said: “I’m very happy with how our first test has gone; we have made progress every session and tried a lot of different things out.

“I was learning a brand new bike, but I am feeling comfortable and confident not only with my riding but with my team environment.”
