Michael Dunlop is set to lock horns with Bruce Anstey in Monday’s Motorsport Merchandise Formula 1 race.
However, with bad weather forecast on the Isle of Man, there remains a chance the feature race plus the 350cc Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix Newcomers events could be rearranged for Tuesday.
Dunlop was second fastest during practice on the Team Classic Suzuki, with Anstey clocking a 122.888mph lap on Friday to lead the times on the ex-Grand Prix Padgetts Motorcycles YZR500 Yamaha.
But the Ulster star is confident he can come out on top as he bids to repeat his victory in the race from last year.
Referring to the threat posed by Anstey, Dunlop said: “They’re not challenges, don’t worry about that. Bruce seems to be going well on the Yamaha 500 but we’re alright – Steve [Wheatman] has built a fantastic motorbike and come race day I’ll ride it as hard as I can.
“The TT is a different ball game because you have to be as professional as you can, but when you come here for the Classic TT you can have a laugh with the boys and enjoy racing motorbikes and hopefully put a show on for the crowd.”
Ryan Farquhar will also be aiming for a solid result on Roger Winfield’s Harris F1 Yamaha.
