Manx rider Dan Kneen has been left battered and bruised following a crash at the Pro Test at Cartagena in Spain on Thursday.

Kneen, who has signed for Northern Ireland’s Mar-Train Racing team to ride the Yamaha YZF-R1 in 2016 - replacing Bradford’s Dean Harrison - came off during the morning session and was taken to hospital for assessment.

On Thursday afternoon, his team confirmed that he escaped with bruising and said it is hoped the Isle of Man star will be fit enough to resume testing on Saturday.

Kneen rode for Clive Padgett’s team last year after taking the Irish National roads scene by storm in 2014, when he won the Superbike title at his first attempt on John Burrows’ Cookstown/BE Racing Suzuki.

The Pro Test runs over four days and concludes on Sunday.
