World Superbike star Eugene Laverty is in Belfast on Friday as the Voltcom Crescent Suzuki star opens the Adelaide Blackhorse Motorcycle Festival at the King’s Hall.
Laverty, who finished as the championship runner-up for Aprilia behind Kawasaki’s Tom Sykes last year, won nine races on the RSV4 during a superb season.
The Toomebridge man and new team-mate Alex Lowes took the wraps off their 2014 Voltcom Crescent Suzuki GSX-R1000 machines during a public launch on Wednesday at the team’s headquarters at Verwood, Dorset.
Laverty will be joined by British Supersport contender Alastair Seeley plus British Superbike stalwart and North West 200 favourite Michael Rutter at the opening of the annual show.
The festival, organised by Billy Nutt, begins a three-day run at the King’s Hall, where all the latest models from a host of manufacturers are on display.
Opening hours are 2pm-10pm on Friday and 10am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday, February 7-9.
Guests over the weekend also include Ian Hutchinson, William and Michael Dunlop, Dan Kneen and motocross ace Martin Barr.
