Ed Allingham from Eglington has secured a coveted place in Roger Magee’s HM Plant KTM motocross team.

The 22-year-old former British youth champion who has spent some time racing in America will in future concentrate on the European MX2 class.

“Having Ed joining us for next season will give the team a local flavour,” said Magee, who is entering his ninth year with a professional team.

“Earlier this season Ed sustained a foot injury which forced him on to the sidelines, but now he’s fully fit and rarin’ to go.

“His first home appearance should be the Arenacross in January at the Odyssey in Belfast where Elliott Banks-Browne will be his team-mate.”

A 22-year-old, Banks-Browne from Bury St Edmunds won the British MX2 championship for 2012 and next year he will concentrate on the same class at world level.

James Dunn from Swindon will join Allingham in the European EMX 2 series.
