Graeme Irwin gets seat with Suzuki-GB

TALENTED: Graeme Irwin

TALENTED: Graeme Irwin

Graeme Irwin, following weeks of uncertainty, has landed a much sought after place in a brand new Suzuki-GB motocross team with backing from Heads & All Threads.

An exciting 20-year-old from Carrickfergus, Irwin will concentrate on the British MX2 championship.

His first local appearance in the Suzuki colours is expected to be the second round of the Arenacross at the Odyssey Arena, Belfast on January 19.

“During the season just ended I finished fourth in the same championship,” reflected Irwin. “Next year I’ll be after the title!

“This Suzuki deal is something special, because back in 2008 I rode Suzukis winning both the Ulster and Irish 125 cc championships.

After two injury prone seasons, Irwin was happy with his form during 2012 when he rode Yamahas.

“My training has already started in preparation for what promises to be a hectic season. Hopefully,

“I will stay clear of any injuries and that will allow me to start the year as healthy as possible.

“Towards to end of last season I secured several wild-card entries for some of the world championship events and hopefully that opportunity will arise again next year but my priority must be the British championship.
