Good victory for Under 14's

EOGHAN Rua's Under-14 footballers enjoyed a fine 5-8 to 0-2 home win over Drumsurn at the University grounds last Sunday morning.

Playing with the aid of the stiffish downfield wind Coleraine took a grip of the game early on with goals from Mark Donnelly, two, one from a penalty, and Aidan Loughrey.

An 18th minute goal from Rory Bradley gave Eoghan Rua a handsome 4-4 to 0-1 lead. Three points from Liam McGoldrick and two from Mark Donnelly gave the home side a 4-5 to 0-1 half-time lead.

Early in the seconf half Aidan Loughry extended the home side's lead with a point before Drumsurn replied with a point of their own. Any hopes the visitors had of making a comeback were dashed when Michael Crawley hit Coleraine's fifth goal midway through the half.

The scoring was completed by the twin threat of Eoin and Brendan McKillop as they each struck over fine points. At the back Coleraine were very sound with Niall Deeney, Ruari Mooney and Paul Roantree on top of their game while Niall McMahon and Niall Mullan linked the play well around the half forward line.
