Lurgan are All Ireland champions

Lurgan College won the all-Ireland Kate Russell Cup in a thrilling tournament in Limerick, WRITES AUSTIN HOCKEY.

Lurgan won three games and lost one but had to wait until the last second of the competition before they were sure of victory.

Their main opponents Alexandra College needed to win their last game 6-0 to beat them on goal difference but they could only beat Crescent College 6-1, despite having three penalty corners in overtime.

But Lurgan ran out worthy winners and are the best hockey school in Ireland.
