The line-up for the 10th annual Windsor Superset Invitation tournament has been confirmed.
And there is a host of top players taking part – including a four-times Ulster champion – at the south Belfast venue on Saturday.
Przemek Stec is the current Ulster champion having won the title for the fourth time in five years and he has also won the Superset four times, in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, and so will be keen to regain the title after winning the men’s singles and doubles at the Boat Club.
Last year the Pole suffered a blip when he lost out in the final to Nelson Boyle, who has also won the competition on four occasions.
Revenge will be in the air should the pair meet in a rematch as it will be if Alex Watt is on the opposite side of the net to the Windsor ace.
Stec beat the Hilden player in the Boat Club men’s singles final a couple of weeks ago and Watt was also on the losing side against him in the doubles semi.
Ben Fetherston was Stec’s partner then and on Saturday he will be turning his attention to the short and sharp version of the singles.
Also taking part in the showcase, which gets under way at 10.30am with the final due around 5pm, are Matthew McClurg, Ben Kelly, Aaron Stubbs and Karl Donaldson with a doubles event running alongside it in what will be a busy day.
