Robert Hastings claims Kinghan Church Bowls Club’s singles championship

Robert Hastings walked off with the Kinghan Church Bowls Club’s 2nd annual singles championship.

The Ballywalter man defeated Abbey Presbyterian’s Erin Montgomery in a hotly contested final.

“Both players came through a strong field to make it to the final,” said Alfred Hagan, Kinghan president.

“The standard of bowls on the night was top drawer and everyone enjoyed the bowls on show.

“The tournament was a great success and club officials would like to thank all the competitors who supported our event and to everyone who played a part.

“They all made the occasion very special on the night.”

p Aughintober Bowls Club is hosting a ‘Fun Pairs’ tournament on the first four Thursday nights in May.

It will get under way on May 1 and continue on 8, 15 and 22, starting at 7pm each evening.

Everyone will be made welcome.
