The Irish Open will return to Northern Ireland in 2015 when Royal County Down will stage the tournament.
The BBC reported last night that the tournament will be held at the Newcastle, Co Down venue for the first time in 75 years.
The European Tour has yet to confirm the decision but officials will be hoping for a repeat of the 2012 staging at Royal Portrush when record crowds watched Welshman Jamie Donaldson win.
Last year the tournament was held at Carton House with Paul Casey emerging as the winner.
