Hume scored all 13 points for Inst including a try with the last play of the game to seal a 13-3 victory against Campbell.

"At the moment I'm just relieved I'm still a bit blown away that we held on for as long as we did in the second-half, jeepers they threw everything at us and every time we got a wee break we then did our utmost to bring our own downfall," said Soper.

"The boys just hung in there and we're delighted, but relieved because that was a tense second-half."

It was Inst's defence that won the game as they basically spend the entire second half in there own 22.

"Lineout defence, that's Richie's baby and he looked at that pretty hard, the boys to their credit they take it in and credit to the whole squad."

The extra guys worked really hard to learn the Campbell lineout to mimic that in training, that's where the quality of the squad comes in, they've a lot of quality ball carriers but we knew we had to tackle them low and make it a game of rucks rather than mauls, at the breakdown I thought we did reasonably well."

Inst lead 6-3 at half time ut had to wait to the final play their game sealing try.

"I knew that they would throw everything at it, kicking the ball out on the full, every time we had a chance to get a line-out or get the game going we were masters of our own downfall."

"Making an error, we didn't really get playing in the second-half, that was frustrating. In the first-half we were showing signs that we could find some space and create opportunities."

"We wanted more of the same, maybe a bit more clinical but to nail those chances, we said it would be a one score game and we had to make sure it was us that got it."

The Kiwi praised the character and spirit of his team.

"That's been my biggest question mark over the team for a lot of the year, whether they had the resilience and the character to come through a challenge like that but every time we've thrown something at them they've stepped up and they did that today." "My biggest fear today was that Campbell would have too much power if they got within 5m of the line. Just before half-time, I thought that was key and gave me a bit of confidence that we could hold them out."

Inst made history by becoming the ft school to win both the Medallion Shield and Schools Cup in consecutive years and to win all four trophies in one season.

"We will sit back and reflect on that as quite outstanding, the thing for me, as director of rugby, that's more pleasing from that side of the job."
