Glasgow took the lead three minutes later when centre Sam Johnson caught the home defence flat footed with a break through midfield that created an overlap and the ball was moved to the wing for Lee Jones to have a simple run in but out half Gregor Hunter failed to convert.

Ulster were unfortunately not to get a try on 27 minutes when following a great Craig Gilroy break he put a grubber kick in behind the Glasgow defence but Warriors scrum half Ali Price beat Pienaar to touch down in goal.

Ulster thought they had a try on 35 minutes but it was disallowed by the TMO as he adjudged Glasgow propSila Puafisi got downward pressure before Ulster replacement scrum half Paul Marshall.

Hunter missed a long range penalty on 48 minutes.

Callum Black scored his first Ulster try on his 100th appearance for the province.

Following a good break by Gilroy and some strong driving close to the Glasgow line Black barged over from close range and Jackson converted.

Jackson extended Ulster’s lead with a simple penalty from in front of the posts after a high tackle on Craig Gilroy.

Glasgow had captain Ryan Wilson yellow carded but Ulster failed to take advantage and the Warriors secured a bonus point in injury time when Australian winger Taqele Naiyaravoro collected Grayson Hart’s cross field kick to dot down.
