RUGBY: Ulster up for test - Best
FACING Magner League champions, The Ospreys, presents Ulster with a stern challenge, according to Rory Best.
The Welsh region bring a star-studded line-up with an international almost in every position to face an Ulster side which included three rookies each making their Magners League bow.
"Sure what better way to test ourselves than against the current champions," said Best, who added: "We are glad it is at home and it will be a tough game, but it would have been tougher if we had to go to them to kick things off."
The Irish international said: "Ravenhill is important to us, our home record is good and all the good teams always perform well at home.
"It is also a good place to see where we are first up.
"We feel we have put together a good squad over the summer, we feel we are starting to go somewhere and what better way to test ourselves than against the current champions."
Meanwhile, as revealed by the News Letter this week, Ulster have handed three of their young guns debutants in tonight's big game.
David McIlwaine and Tommy Seymour will start on the wings, while trialist, Adam D'Arcy, from Australia, is named at fullback.
Young prop, Paddy McAllister and scrumhalf, Ian Porter, will win their first caps if called off the bench.
Ulster coach, Brian McLaughlin, said: "The young players are ones who have gone well in pre-season and we have full faith in them doing the job required."
