LURGAN 32 LIMAVADY 31

Lurgan lifted the Gordon West Cup on Saturday after a thrilling encounter with Limavady.

The Kukri Section Three sides were separated by a solitary point at the final whistle at the Kingspan Stadium.

Limavady, who had already clinched the league and had only lost one other match this season - in the Towns’ Cup - were red hot favourites going into the game.

But in spite of having lost both league matches, Lurgan - the first ever winners of the Gordon West Cup 2000 - dug deep to deny Limavady back-to-back successes.
