Ulster players lend a hand as Ravenhill development work starts

Rory Best and Craig Gilroy get work underway at the new Ravenhill stadium development

Ulster Rugby players Rory Best and Craig Gilroy lend a hand as work begins on the redevelopment of Ravenhill on Monday.

Gilroy was of course the star performer in Ireland’s 46-24 demolition of Argentina at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.

Three new stands will be built at the ground by the summer of 2014, in a phased approach that will see capacity increase from 11,400 to 18,000.

The project has received £14.7 million of funding from the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure and is part of the Northern Ireland Executive’s regional stadium development programme.
