Ulster reveal initial squad for Italian job

Ulster coach, Mark Anscombe

Ulster coach, Mark Anscombe

Ulster will travel to Italy on the weekend with a mix of experience and youth in the ranks after the provisional squad was revealed on Thursday.

With injuries and international call-ups, Ulster head coach, Mark Anscombe, has been stretched - but there is no one on the team who has not played already this season.

Props Tom Court and Declan Fitzpatrick were both included on the initial squad later on Thursday.

Court was released by Ireland while Fitzpatrick was given the okay from the medical team having suffered a knock in the victory over Dragons, which ruled him out of Irish selection in the past fortnight.

Ulster are on a double Italian job in the RaboDirect PRO12 next week, facing Zebre on Sunday, November 18 and meeting Benetton Treviso on Friday, November 23.

If players currently with Ireland are released next week, Ulster will consider bringing them out to Treviso.
