Stephen Wylie and Dennis Scott gave North Down the top two places in the Portaferry 10 Miles Road Race which was held around an attractive two laps course on the Ards Peninsula.

The pair have been battling for positions all season having finished just one second apart at Killough but this time it was Stephen who applied the pressure coming home 52 seconds before Dennis.

Former international runner Dave Lonnen running for the City of Lisburn Club came third.

Breege Connolly had only two men ahead of her as she regained the title that she won in 2011. The marathon star who could have been in the Commonwealth had a three minute cushion.

Judith Lonnen from Lisburn made it a family double by taking second with Sile Brennan of Orangegrove third.

Joe Craney and John Craig of Orangegrove won the two person relay from David Proctor and Ryan Holt of Willowfield with Dub Runners James Trainor and Maeve Lavery in third.
