With over 1,000 entries already in for the 2nd Deep RiverRock Belfast City Half Marathon, the event is on target to break the inaugural record of 4,000 participants in 2013. The event is an extension of the hugely popular Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon and will be held on Sunday 14th September, 9am starting and finishing at the King’s Hall Pavilion.
Danny O’Connor, Chairman of the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon organising committee, said: “We were overwhelmed with the participant numbers of our first half marathon event in 2013 and are hoping that this success continues for our second year. Our route will again showcase the city of Belfast by passing major landmarks including Queen’s University, Belfast City Hall, Albert Clock and the Titanic Quarter.
”With less than 10 weeks to race day, why not get involved and set yourself an exciting Summer challenge by participating in the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Half Marathon and “Run for Home” with CLIC Sargent, Official Charity for the 2014 event.”
Online entries are available now at our brand new website www.belfastcityhalfmarathon.net – deadline for entries is Sunday 31st August.
The Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon is sponsored by Athletics Northern Ireland, Belfast City Council, Daily Mirror, ASICS and U105. This year’s official charity is CLIC Sargent Northern Ireland.
