Tony McCoy to pen a racing novel!

Jockey Tony McCoy

Jockey Tony McCoy

Seventeen-times champion jockey Tony McCoy has been commissioned to write a novel.

Orion Publishing has bought the rights for a McCoy-penned racing thriller, which is due to be released in hardback in November 2013.

McCoy said: “Having published my autobiography a couple of years ago, I am delighted to be working with the Orion Publishing team again.

“This time I will be writing a thriller, which is something very different, but I’m up for the challenge and looking forward to getting started.”

Jon Wood, deputy publisher of Orion, said: “I’m so excited that AP McCoy has decided to turn his hand to fiction.

“With his unrivalled knowledge of the racing world and what it is like to be champion jockey, few are as well placed to create a brilliant new character in this genre.

“I’m sure these novels will have massive success with his army of loyal fans.”

McCoy’s autobiography was published by Orion in October 2011.
