Ulster Rally boosted with news of new sponsorship agreement

The Ulster Rally which takes place in August is to be sponsored by John Mulholland Motors.

The event which will see the new look British Rally Championship return to Northern Ireland for its second visit of the year.

John Mulholland is no stranger to the sport of rallying and is a regular competitor himself and his sponsorship will extend to the 2017 and 2018 events.

The rally, based in Londonderry and will be staged on 19/20th August and will feature 16 stages.

Meanwhile Callum Devine has been nominated for this year’s Motorsport Ireland Billy Coleman Young Rally Driver Award.

The 21 year-old from Claudy, drove his Opel Adam to a class win and 16th place overall in the Donegal Stages Rally in January, and went on to take another class victory and 14th position against much stronger opposition in the Galway International Rally, the opening round of the Irish Tarmac Championship. 

He is contesting the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship this year, and has also registered for the British series, also planning on tackling one or two gravel rounds.
