Rival zones Armagh and West Down will meet at Loughbrickland Presbyterian Church Hall in their annual Charity Challenge on Saturday (11.30am).
The Ivan Marshall Memorial Trophy is up for grabs in the men’s game, while the women will battle it out for the Michael Catney Memorial Cup.
West Down are missing three ‘regulars’ as Richard Martin, DJ Wilson and Liam Murray are all unavailable which could tilt the men’s tie in favour of their opponents.
“There is always a fair amount of rivalry, but the big winner is the charity involved. This is the fourth year of this challenge and something in the region of £5,000 has been raised,” said West Down’s Harold Massey.
“A cheque for £2,000 was handed over to the Southern Area Hospice last year. Hopefully, we can repeat that this time for the Marie Curie Cancer Fund.”
Meanwhile, holders Cookstown Parochial put their IIBA Club Championship on the line tomorrow night at the Watson Stadium (7.15pm).
Redeemer are now tasked with the job of dethroning the champions in the semi final. In the other tie, St Mark’s, Portadown, come up against Benvarden.
Fixtures: IIBA Club Championship: Semi finals: St Mark’s, Portadown, v Benvarden; Cookstown Parochial v Redeemer.
Plate tournament: Semi finals: St Mary’s, Aghadowey v Du Pont; Spa Golf Club v Gortnessey.
Entries are now invited for the Clogherney Pairs tournament from October 21-25.
