Two up and coming young Northern Ireland drivers took the honours in the opening two rounds of the Ginetta Junior Championship staged at Mondello Park.
Johnnie Mulholland started the first race from pole but retired on the opening lap as Jack Finlay from Carrickfergus sprinted to victory some five seconds clear of second-placed James Roe.
There were no mistakes for Mulholland in the second race as he headed another young Northern Ireland driver Wilson Thompson.
The championship will now move to Kirkistown at the end of this month with rounds three and four.
Graham Thompson at the wheel of his GTR Turbo set fastest time of the day to win the TSCC Croft Hillclimb the opening round of the 2014 Northern Ireland Hillclimb Championship.
Runner-up was Robert McGimpsey driving a RMG Busa and third place went to Christopher Houston in an OMS and the fastest saloon on the hill was Robert Gage in a Maguire Mini and he finished fifth overall.
Citroen marked their debut in the FIA World Touring Car Championship in the opening two rounds in Marrakech by two race wins, Jose-María Lopez won the firstrace and the former World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb won the second.
Elsewhere, Owen Murphy with co-driver James O’Brien in their Mitsubishi EVO 9 emerged from the final stage un-scathed to claim a 15 second victory on the second round of the 2014 Valvoline National Forest Rally Championship the Moonraker Rally which took place in Ballyvourney.
