Music lovers are ready to get their groove on for Belsonic this Friday when it all kicks off with a performance by technotronic dance-pop wonder Example (real name Elliot Greave) at Belfast’s Custom House Square.
With two sold-out British arena tours behind him, Example is so hot right now and will be playing from brand new LP Live Life Living.
His sound is close to Faithless, the Prodigy, Black Box, Soul II Soul and yet, despite such diverse influences, it is also altogether peerless,
Then on Sunday August 17 it’s time for Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro to take to the outdoor stage – archetypal, romantic and anthemic rock gods who have produced many albums of abrasive yet ever-youthful exuberance.
August 18 is Irish rock band Kodaline’s time to shine and they will be joined by indie singer/songwriter Tom Odell, who has also scooped a BRIT award and is the troubadour du jour.
Then on August 19 Chic feat Nile Rodgers take things at Custom House Square to a whole new level of cool. Nile Rodgers has written, produced and played on a lot of the most memorable pop music of all time and this is sure to be a gig of truly memorable vintage and cachet.
And, there’s more. Queens of the Stone Age will play on August 20, really getting the decibel levels thrumming and the angst in the air growing melodically. The line-up finishes on August 22 with LA-based quartet Imagine Dragons.
