Tennessee rockers Kings of Leon have been unveiled as the first headline act to perform at Tennent’s Vital, Boucher Playing Fields, Belfast on August 14.
This will be the third time the Grammy award-winning family four-piece have performed in Belfast, and the event is expected to see ticket sales soar. When Kings of Leon played the Odyssey on 2008 tickets sold out in just ten minutes.
Details of the second Tennent’s Vital date and line-up will be annoucned within the next few weeks.
The Followhill brothers made a splash when they burst into the music scene in 2003 with debut release Youth & Young Manhood.
Since then the band have cemented their status as one of the world’s most popular and most lusted-after rock bands.
They have a slew of accolades under their beltas including Brit Awards for Best International Band and Best International Album (Only By The Night), plus Grammys including Record of the Year (Use Somebody) as well as Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song.
Announcing the band’s Vital performance, Nicola McCleery, head of marketing for Tennent’s NI, said: “We’re incredibly excited that Kings of Leon will be taking to the stage at the festival this August.
“They’re one of the finest bands in the world and a phenomenal live act, and I’m sure they’ll treat us to an unmissable set.”
Tickets for Kinds of Leon at Tennent’s Vital, Boucher Playing Fields, Belfast, August 14, are on sale from today (April 12) from Ticketmaster outlets.
