Now in its thirteenth year, the festival is widely regarded for its role in giving a platform to young, talented, emerging singer-songwriters with many benefitting significantly from the exposure the festival provides and the trips to Nashville organised by the festival with the aim of introducing local artists to Nashville-based industry professionals.

Local singer-songwriters, Triona Carville, will take to the stage at the Clayton Hotel on Friday 3 March to launch her new single and Ryan McMullan will perform on Saturday 4 March. Both artists received a major boost following showcasing at previous Belfast Nashville festivals. Ryan McMullan was first showcased in March 2015 where he was noticed by Bangor musician, Foy Vance, who then took him on his American tour and introduced him to multi award-winning songwriter Ed Sheeran. It was announced recently that Ryan has been personally invited by Ed Sheeran to support him on his 2017 European tour.

Similarly, in 2015, following a showcasing at Belfast Nashville and a subsequent tour with Westlife star, Brian McFadden, Triona opened for Van Morrison in Dublin performing to a crowd of 14,000. Triona also first visited Nashville with support from the Festival where she worked with Jodi Marr, the Grammy award-winning songwriter and producer behind smash hits including ‘New York’ by Paloma Faith and Mika’s ‘Big Girl (You are Beautiful)’.
