Annaclone & Magherally enjoy action packed start to season

Annaclone and Magherally YFC, based in Banbridge, has had an action packed start to their club programme.

On Wednesday 14th September, approximately forty members of the club bounced the night away at The Jump Boxx, located in Banbridge.

The club then hosted a ‘Know Your Neighbour’ Charity Tractor and Truck Run at The Outlet Park, Banbridge on Friday 23rd September. The club was overwhelmed with the support they received, and would like to thank everyone who attended.

A donation from the money received will be made to The Children’s Heartbeat Trust with the remainder of the money going to club funds.

The first competition of the new programme was Floral Art, which was held at Ballynahinch Leisure Centre on Tuesday 27th September.

Well done to all thirteen members who took part, with special congratulations to Scott Boyd 3rd (12-14 age group), Connor Woods 2nd (12-16 age group), Ellen Woods 1st (18-21 age group), Jane Cowan 3rd (25-30 age group) and Jonathan Sleator 2nd (25-30 age group).

Ellen Woods, who was placed first, will now progress to Balmoral Show 2017, to compete in the Northern Ireland final.

On the day after, Wednesday 28th September, the club met at Loughbrickland Presbyterian Church Halls, for a night of fun with Bubble Ball NI.

This involved members getting inside giant inflatable balls and attempting to stay on their feet without being knocked over.

The club was then invited to Bleary YFC for the return meeting of the club exchange on Friday 7th October.

This was a ‘Surprize Night’, and in keeping with the Young Farmers’ theme, jiving lessons were organised.

Dancing standards were varied, but a great night was had by all, and thanks must go to Bleary YFC for hosting the club.

The members of the club had a unique opportunity to visit Thompson’s Meal Mill in Belfast, on Wednesday 12th October.

This allowed both farming and non-farming members to observe the processes involved in producing the various meal and provided an invaluable opportunity to ask questions.

Annaclone and Magherally YFC continue their busy programme, with the next club meeting being a ‘Mystery Night’ on Wednesday 26th October.

The club will once again be holding the Annual Harvest Thanksgiving Service, with more details to follow.
