Blonde Club presents new shields for Calf Fair

British Blonde exhibitors at this year's Pedigree Calf Fair will have an opportunity to compete for two new awards.

The perpetual shields, presented by the NI Blonde Cattle Club, will be awarded to the senior and junior breed champions at the one-day event.

Pedigree Calf Fair chairman David Connolly received the shields from club secretary Brian McGartland, and vice chairman Roger Johnston.

The award for the senior champion has been named the John McVeigh Memorial Shield, and has been presented in memory of the club’s highly esteemed life-long member and friend John McVeigh, who passed away in April.

Judging the British Blonde classes at this year’s show is Des Donohoe from County Meath.
